Update on our CAA Aerodrome Licence

Following a routine unannounced inspection by the CAA, a small number of areas for improvement were identified at the airport. As a result, our aerodrome licence has been temporarily suspended while we work through these actions with the CAA.

The airport remains fully open for business. The suspension only means that aircraft requiring a licensed aerodrome or CAT 1 RFFS cannot currently be accepted. In fact, most general aviation activity does not require the aerodrome to be licensed at all, so the vast majority of our regular flying can continue as normal. This does not affect skydiving operations, flight training at Gower Flight Centre, or visiting pilots wishing to drop in and enjoy our lovely location. Our café is also open as usual and we'd love to see you.

As a volunteer-run organisation, our board and volunteers are working hard to address the actions identified so the licence can be reinstated as quickly as possible.

We're not able to go into the specifics of the CAA's findings, but please be assured we take them seriously and our focus is on resolving them with the CAA. Thank you for your continued support and patience in the meantime.
